The Avanti Salonboat Foundation

In the Autumn of 2004 a couple of dedicated individuals decided to raise a foundation to preserve the Salonboot Avanti and her history. The history of this boat is closely intertwined with the shipyard from van der Giessen at Krimpen aan de IJssel 

About the foundation

Purposes
  • The preservation of the authentic Salonboat build in 1909.
  • The renovation and restoration of the Avanti to its original state as was in 1909.
  • Conservation of knowledge of the Avanti (reports, register, photo’s, films, stories and models) and to promote this knowledge to our donors via newsletters. 
  • To organise roundtrips in close cooperation with or donors and volunteers on behave of our preservation of the Salonboot Avanti.
  • Possible acquisition of other monumental boats for restoration.
